| I wonder when we will start to venture out to other brands of turbo chargers, instead of just garrett. I know garrett is just fine. But there are alot of us out there with custom water,oil, drain lines and custom piping.. Other brands make some real efficient and cool setups. The different types of pairing different compressor and turbine specs, along with using extra large turbos that have ported shrouds to help eliminate "compressor surge when using a very large compressor wheel.. it takes so long for the inertia of the physically large compressor wheel, that when it finally does spool.. it'll "snap" at the beginning of its spool. Porting shrouds help keep it from happening.. Its basically a "controlled" vacuum leak. That can be tuned with because the leak is always constant. I remember hearing this old hippie "bob marly" type guy tell me that him and his race team had a secret about turbo charging.. and it was that they drilled very small holes on the compressor housings.. This was way before I ever heard anything about ported shrouds.. go figure..
